Improvements will enhance transit access by enabling passengers with mobility devices to use the bus stop more easily;and the improvements will allow for the future installation of a shelter or bench by Omnitrans. Riders at this location have nearby access to the Jerry L. Pettis Memorial Veterans Hospital less than .3 miles. This stop provides service to numerous residents living within a .5-mile distance south, north, east, and west of this stop location. In addition, this stop upgrade would serve an Omnitrans OmniAccess paratransit client who is eligible for paratransit service. This project will enable this client, along with others such as seniors and individuals with disabilities,to ride fixed-route transit by providing a shelter or bench to improve their experience of waiting at the bus stop.
