A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HIGHLAND,
CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING PERIODIC SUBMITTAL OF PERIODIC CLAIMS TO
SBCTA FOR TDA ARTICLE 3 FUNDS FOR 9TH STREET TRANSIT STOPS,
SIDEWALK AND BIKEWAY IMPROVEMENTS
(BETWEEN EUCALYPTUS DRIVE AND VICTORIA AVENUE) (SWK19001)
WHEREAS, the Transportation Development Act (TDA) provides funding for the
development and support of public transportation needs that exist in California and are
allocated to each county based on population, taxable sales and transit performance;
and
WHEREAS, San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) administers TDA
funds for a wide variety of transportation programs in San Bernardino County, including
planning and program activities, pedestrian and bicycle facilities, community transit
services, public transportation, and bus and rail projects; and
WHEREAS, SBCTA has awarded the City of Highland $67,436 TDA Article 3 grant
funds for development of 9th Street Transit Stops, Sidewalk and Bikeway Improvements
between Eucalyptus Drive and Victoria Avenue (SWK19001); and
WHEREAS, development of the 9th Street Transit Stops, Sidewalk and Bikeway
Improvements between Eucalyptus Drive and Victoria Avenue (SWK19001) is currently
underway, and a portion of City expenses are eligible for reimbursement with TDA
Article 3 funds; and
WHEREAS, SBCTA allows submittal of periodic claims for TDA Article 3 funds when
authorized by the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Highland
authorizes the Public Works Director/City Engineer and the Director of Administrative
Services/City Treasurer to execute claim documents and to submit periodic claims to
SBCTA for TDA Article 3 funds that are awarded for the 9th Street Transit Stops,
Sidewalk and Bikeway Improvements between Eucalyptus Drive and Victoria Avenue
(SWK19001) until the entire award amount of$67,436 is claimed.
