One(1) grant was in the amount of$87,000.00 for the Sidewalk Retrofitting with Accessibility Ramps Project, while the other grant was in the amount of$353,081.00 for the Bicycle Path and Pedestrian Facilities Project. The Pedestrian Facilities Project identified several street segments to receive sidewalks and accessibility ramps. The original Scope of Work included segments on Monte Vista Avenue, B Street, C Street, and 4th Street. On September 14, 2020, SBCTA granted the City of Chino a revised Scope of Work which removed a segment on C Street from Monte Vista Avenue to 4th Street. The Bicycle Path and Facilities Project identified several streets segments to receive bicycle improvements based on the City of Chino's Bike and Pedestrian Master Plan adopted in 2016. The original Scope of Work included segments along B Street, C Street, 7th Street, 9th Street, Sequoia Avenue, Rosario Street, Washington Avenue, Park Place, and Benson Avenue. On September 14, 2020, SBCTA granted the City of Chino a revised Scope of Work to include additional segments such as 1 Oth Street, 12th Street, Tronkeel Avenue, and Oaks Avenue. On December 7, 2020,a second revision was granted to the City of Chino to include improvements on the streets surrounding the Chino High School Improvements perimeter. This revised scope includes Benson Avenue, Jefferson Avenue, Monroe Avenue, Serene Avenue, Catalpa Place, Jacaranda Place, and Park Place. 13220 Central Avenue, Chino, California 91710 Mailing Address: P.O. The Bicycle Path and Pedestrian Facilities Project included: striping, traffic signs and posts, traffic legends, the installation of bicycle lanes, and bicycle boulevards that will connect to various transit areas in compliance with Bicycle Standards per the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices and Caltrans Standards. These improvements provide an unimpeded travel-way and continuous pathway to significant attractions for City of Chino residents. CAL Stripe, Inc. completed the bike improvements, and "Record Drawings" were prepared. The Bicycle Path and Pedestrian Facilities Project was accepted as complete by the Chino City Council on July 6, 2021. The completed project represents only a portion of the projects that the City planned to complete with the grant funding. The remaining improvements outlined in the revised Scope of Work for both projects dated December 7, 2020, are contingent upon completion of the Chino High School Improvements. The Chino High School Improvements is currently in its last construction phases and its anticipated completion date of Summer 2023. Due to recent staff turnover, the Grant Deadline of October 4, 2021, was inadvertently overlooked. The City of Chino intends to complete the remaining scope of the project in conjunction with the Chino High School Improvements. Based on the anticipated completion date of Summer 2023,the City of Chino respectfully requests a two (2)year extension from the San Bernardino County Transportation Board of Directors for both Grants G7802 and G7803. A two (2)year extension will allow the City of Chino to have a time safeguard in place should any unforeseen conditions arise, that may cause the completion of the Chino High School Improvements Pro' ct to be delayed.
