RE: 2010-2011 Article 3 Grant Extension Request for Needles Area Transit Bus Stop Improvements
Dear Ms. Ellmore:
This letter serves as a response to the City of Needles request to extend the period of time to complete the
improvements on Third Street and D Street to access bus stop pads. On December 7, 2011, the San Bernardino
Associated Governments (SANBAG) Board of Directors approved grant awards from the Transportation Development
Act (TDA) Article 3 Transit Stop Access Program. The Access for Pedestrians to Needles Area Transit (NAT) Bus
Pads Project was awarded$131,400 with a project completion date of December 31, 2014. SANBAG concurs with the
City of Needles request to extend the period of time to complete this project. The revised project completion date is
June 31,2015.
As a friendly reminder, the TDA Article 3 grant award is paid through a reimbursement process upon completion of
the project. It is required that a TDA claim form and supporting documentation of project completion are submitted to
SANBAG prior to disbursement of funds to the City of Rancho Cucamonga.
The TDA Article 3 grant award is for a maximum reimbursable amount. Should your project exceed the maximum
reimbursable amount, SANBAG will not provide any additional reimbursement. For projects completed under the
awarded amount, SANBAG will reimburse your agency for the TDA Article 3 share of the project using the match
percentage identified in your grant application. Lastly, the receipt of TDA Article 3 funds requires an independent
audit of the project.
When your project is complete please contact Vanessa Jezik, Transportation Programming Analyst, at SANBAG for
the TDA Claim Form and filing instructions. Vanessa can be reached at (909) 884-8276 or vjezik@sanbag.ca.gov_.
Should you need additional information regarding this matter, please contact Tim Byrne, Transportation Planning
Chief, at(909) 884-8276 or tbyme@sanbag.ca.&
Sincerely,
Tim Byrne
Chief of Planning
