The proposed upgrades would provide an ADA- compliant boarding area. The upgrades will create a more navigable path between the bus and the sidewalk, increase the space available for passengers on mobility devices, and make the stop ADA-compliant. These bus stop locations are noted in Omnitrans' accessibility survey as needing ADA compliance improvements. These improvements would greatly enhance the experience for disabled or elderly passengers, which may result in increased ridership. Indeed, 66% of survey respondents (surveyed for the City's Active Transportation Master Plan)said they would ride the bus more if accessibility and quality of life improvements were constructed. Locations: 1. S Haven Ave. and E Francis St., northbound, far side, Ontario, CA This stop is served by 18 buses per day by Omnitrans Route 81. This bus stop location connects riders to Upland, Rancho Cucamonga, and the East Ontario Metrolink Station, providing local and regional access to Montclair, Fontana, Rialto, San Bernardino, and Los Angeles County. The stop is in an area with heavy commercial and industrial land uses, providing transit services to local jobs. Across the street is a business complex with several insurance, investment, and employment agencies. Also adjacent are several large (300,000+ sq. ft)offices and distribution centers for various retailers (including Target, La-Z-Boy, and Staples) and supply chain services companies (such as Ingram Micro), as well as a FedEx Ship Center and UPS Regional Air Hub. The high concentration of employment centers in the area makes the bus stop ideal for commuters. 2. E Riverside Dr. and S Archibald Ave., eastbound, nearside, Ontario, CA This stop is served by 16 buses per day and serves Omnitrans Route 87, connecting Ontario to the nearby cities of Upland and Rancho Cucamonga. Additionally, this stop provides direct connections to Routes 61 and 83, providing 2/3 DCI VIGC UJ rVIIIVI Id, IJIIII IV, dI IU IVIVI RGIdII. The stop is in close vicinity to major residential, retail and commercial centers. The stop is within convenient walking distance to several shopping centers that make it accessible to Rite Aid, AutoZone, Park Tree Community Health Center, and Graziano's Pizza. If riders choose to cross Riverside then they will be greeted with opportunities to patron O'Reilly Auto Parts, Chase Bank, Walgreens, and Archibald's Drive Thru. Opposite Archibald Avenue is the Archibald Ranch Town Center, containing Ralphs, PostalAnnex+, Perfume Outlet, a T-Mobile store, and Juan Polio. This stops' proximity to a rich mix of land uses makes it an ideal stop for choice riders who want to travel to nearby retail and commercial uses. Additionally, this location serves transit commuters who work at any of the several businesses served by this stop or who use this location to transfer to the other routes for further access to employment opportunities. 3. Bus stop ID 7895, on Campus at D southbound nearside, Ontario, CA This stop is served by Omnitrans Route 87 and connects Ontario to Eastvale, Rancho Cucamonga, and Chaffey College. This bus stop directly serves a corner market and an established residential neighborhood. This location provides a transportation option for choice and commuter trips to this residential community. Specifically, this bus route facilitates travel to downtown, which is the City's historic cultural and commercial center. Additionally, the route runs through the City's industrial area south of the airport, providing local employment opportunities. 4. Bus stop ID 8554, on Campus at D northbound farside, Ontario, CA This stop is served by Omnitrans Route 87 and connects Ontario to Eastvale, Rancho Cucamonga, and Chaffey College. This bus stop directly serves a corner market and an established residential neighborhood. This location provides a transportation option for choice and commuter trips to this residential community.
