Project Need & Project Description
Purpose The purpose of this project is to upgrade accessibility at three bus stops on
Omnitrans Route 312 in the City of Rialto. The project will add ADA-compliant
concrete boarding areas at each bus stop. These improvements will make the stop
more accessible for disabled or elderly passengers, which may result in increased
ridership.

Project Need & Purpose
The purpose of this project is to upgrade the quality and accessibility of the Easton St. and Alice Ave.
eastbound bus stop located in the City of Rialto. The project will add an ADA-compliant boarding area to
the stop, which will improve the boarding and alighting process and create additional waiting space for
passengers on mobility devices. These improvements will make the stop more accessible for disabled or
elderly passengers, which may result in increased ridership.
The stop serves Omnitrans Route 312, which runs between California State University, San Bernardino
and the Fontana Metrolink Transit Center. The stop is served by 17 buses per day. The bus stop location
is noted in Omnitrans’ accessibility survey as needing ADA compliance improvements.
The stop is located between a residential area and a commercial area. Within ½ mile walking distance of
the stop are Freestone Optometric Center, Rialto Family Dental Center, Ehrler Orthodontics, and a
Pinnacle Medical Group office. Businesses on nearby Riverside Ave. include The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf,
7-Eleven, Jack in the Box, In-N-Out Burger, and an AMPM convenience store. The stop is also near
Rancho Verde Plaza, where there is a Planet Fitness gym, Rite Aid, AutoZone, and Leslie’s swimming pool
supply store. Preston Elementary School is 0.3 miles from the stop.

Rialto. The project will add an ADA-compliant landing area to the stop, which will improve the boarding
and alighting process and create additional waiting space for passengers on mobility devices. These
improvements would make the stop more accessible for disabled or elderly passengers, which may result
in increased ridership.
The stop serves Omnitrans Route 22, which provide access to Fontana, Colton, and Arrowhead Regional
Medical Center. The stop is served by 17 buses per day. The bus stop location is noted in Omnitrans’
accessibility survey as needing ADA compliance improvements.
The stop is located at the Renaissance Marketplace shopping center, which contains a variety of clothing
stores, sporting goods stores, a Cinemark Theater, and restaurants including Panera, The Habit Burger
Grill, California Fish Grill, and Blaze Pizza. The Rialto Amazon Fulfillment Center is ½ mile walking distance
south of the stop.
