Roberts In your letter dated October 16,2017,SBCTA awarded TDA Article 3 Transit Stop Access Mayor Pro Tem Program funds to the City of Fontana for seven bus stop locations. It has since come Michael Tahan to our attention that one of the locations for which we were awarded funds is actually Council Member outside City limits in County unincorporated jurisdiction. Omnitrans helped us prepare Jesus"Jesse"Sandoval our grant application based on Omnitrans' database of locations that need Council Member accessibility improvements, and Omnitrans' database had mistakenly shown Merrill at Elm as being in the City, which it is not. The mistake was not caught before the grant Council Memmberber Jesse e application was submitted. l I write to request that SBCTA allow the City of Fontana to use the $5,000 granted for Merrill at Elm at an alternate location within the City of Fontana. The City proposes to use the $5,000 at Baseline at Cherry (eastbound) instead, which actually has higher ridership than Merrill at Elm - Baseline at Cherry has 17 daily hoardings compared with 6 at Merrill at Elm. The westbound side of Baseline at Cherry was improved by the City in a previous round of Article 3 grants, but the eastbound side is still lacking an accessible sidewalk boarding area between the existing sidewalk and the curb. I look forward to hearing whether this request has been approved. Please feel free to contact me at ikim@fontana.org or (909) 350-6724 if you need any additional information.
