RE: 2015/16 Talk the Walk – TDA Article 3 Award Grant
Dear Ms. Campbell:
This letter serves as a response to the City of Chino’s request to amend the scope of work on the Talk the
Walk project. In April 2016, the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) Board of
Directors approved grant awards from the Transportation Development Act (TDA) Article 3
Bicycle/Pedestrian Program. The project was awarded $45,617 with a project completion date of
December 31, 2019. SBCTA concurs with the request to extend the period of time to complete the
project. The revised project completion date is December 31, 2021. SBCTA also concurs with the request
to allow the funding to be applied towards the purchase of Accessible Pedestrian Signals (APS) with the
understanding that the City of Chino will match the awarded funds at the rate given at the project award.
As a friendly reminder, the TDA Article 3 grant award is paid through a reimbursement process upon
completion of the project. It is required that a TDA claim form and supporting documentation of project
completion are submitted to SBCTA prior to disbursement of funds to the City of Chino. The TDA
Article 3 grant award is for a maximum reimbursable amount. Should your project exceed the maximum
reimbursable amount, SBCTA will not provide any additional reimbursement. For projects completed
under the awarded amount, SBCTA will reimburse your agency for the TDA Article 3 share of the project
using the match percentage identified in your grant application.
When your project is complete please contact Vanessa Schoenewald, Transportation Programming
Analyst, at SBCTA for the TDA Claim Form and filing instructions. Vanessa can be reached at (909)
884-8276 or vschoenewald@gosbcta.com. Should you need additional information regarding this matter,
please contact Cameron Brown, Senior Planner, at (909) 884-8276 or cbrown@gosbcta.com.
Sincerely,
Cameron Brown
