I wanted to follow-up on the project extension request. We are planning to take a batch of extension requests along with the project updates to GPC and Board in August. Would you like to submit the extension for
the SMORE II at the same time? If so, could you provide a letter by this Wednesday 07/22? If not, please submit the formal request at least 4–6 months before the 06/30/2027 deadline to allow sufficient processing
time.

with the property owner to
secure a trail easement;
however, discussions have not
yet resulted in an agreement.
The current property owner is in
the process of selling the
property, which has made
coordination more challenging.
Staff has had communication
with the potential buyer of the
property and in our
communications, we are
confident that a trail easement
will be granted in the future. The
project design plans at
approximately 85% complete so
the ability to access the
easement is the primary delay at
this point. Assuming staff can
coordinate the easement this
calendar year, we anticipate
commencing construction in
July 2027. Staff will be
requesting an extension to the
project timeline to allow
additional time to pursue and
secure the necessary trail
easement.
