(5 points) The project will connect to existing pedestrian facilities to ensure the Town provides a safer environment for students walking to Yucca Valley Elementary School. This also applies to parents/guardians that have to walk to the elementary school for pickup/dropoff. The project is located in a residential area with Jacobs Park in close proximity and adding pedestrian facilities will provide easier pedestrian access to and from the park. 14.B. Explain the multimodal or transit system connectivity provided by this project. (5 points) The Morongo Basin Transit System has a South Yucca Valley route that goes through Onaga Trail by Jacobs Park. On the same route, the proposed sidewalk will connect to existing facilities north of SR 62, guiding pedestrians to a bus stop location by the Dollar General. 16. (5 points) 5pts: SBCTA manually corrected this auto-score based on "6" entry which should have been "1". 4pts: Project would address moderate injury rates (though map does not specify pedestrian incidents). 1.8pts: The bus route map did not provide additional useful information. Site photos as recommended in the application would have been more helpful, as would have exhibits SBCTA created for the Cycle 7 ATP application. 3.6pts: Project has some, but not extensive, multimodal connection. Sectoin C: Project Schedule/Readiness (15 points total) 17. Describe project readiness. (5 points) The proposed project is a continuation effort to provide the residents of Yucca Valley with pedestrian facilities to easily access public facilities such as schools and parks. In 2019, the Town received SB1 funding to install sidewalks near Yucca Valley Elementary School and Yucca Valley High School. Public outreach and surveys were conducted as part of that project and their seemed to be a trend that residents would like to see more sidewalks being installed near residential areas. 18. Has the agency delivered past projects on schedule as originally scoped? (5 points) Yes, staff will coordinate with utility companies to ensure no utilities will be affected by the project. Staff will notify affected residents in advance regarding the project scope. Staff will ensure environmental requirements are met prior to start of construction to prevent any delays. 19. What provisions does the agency have in place to ensure the facility will be properly maintained?
