Hello Amparo,
As you know Ginger is currently out of the office. I wanted to know if you had heard back from
Ginger prior to her leave as I didn’t see an email from her.
Additionally I wanted to confirm that $505651.21 is the revised amount for Bemis is correct? If so Ill
put it into the item and will be having it approved in the August Transit Committee.

Hello,
The City is interested in receiving and accepting partial funding for Bemis Elementary project. As a result,
adjustments have been made to project’s scope and cost. Specifically, we have removed the Traffic
Signal from the project plan.
I also wanted to share with you the cost estimate breakdown for both Bemis Elementary and Frisbie
Middle School. Additionally, our team is confident in completing the project ahead of the June 30, 2027
deadline.
Below is our estimated project timeline for both projects:
City Council Acceptance of
Funds October 2023
Award of Design December 2023
Design Completion October 2024
Begin Construction March 2025
End Construction March 2026

Thanks Amparo. I should have mentioned, for Bemis, you can reduce the scope overall, beyond just
removing the traffic signal, commensurate with the reduced funding if you want. Just be sure to
keep a 35% local match.

Hi Dayan,
Both of Rialto’s SRTS applications scored well enough by our evaluators to be recommended for
funding provided the City can provide (1) a reasonable itemized budget the specifies exactly what
will be completed for how much and (2) a project schedule that demonstrates how the City will
complete the project by 6/30/2027.
The evaluators scored the Frisbie Middle School SRTS high enough that it will be recommended for
full funding however, the Bemis Elementary SRTS project was last on the qualified list for funding
and only potentially eligible for the remaining funding amount which would be $716,745.25. If the
City is interested in this partial award, these funds cannot be used towards installing a traffic signal
as that benefits vehicles more than students. In general, SRTS projects should slow adjacent traffic,
not speed it up.
Please let me know as soon as possible if the City does not wish to claim the partial award for the
Bemis Elem SRTS project so I can offer the funding to the next runner up, and please submit the
itemized budget and schedule by Friday, August 11, 2023.
