Project Need& Project Description
Purpose 1)Redlands:SAN BERNARDINO @ TEXAS WB NS; Route 15; 13.2 daily ons&
offs; 18 daily buses; Bench-$800
•Installation of a bench will improve the waiting environment by providing seating at
the bus stop for riders accessing nearby Citrus Valley High School and housing
surrounding the stop.
2)Colton: LACADENA @ D SB FS Route 19; 13.1 daily ons&offs;24 daily buses;
Shelter-$20,000
•The purchase of a bus shelter will help this location by improving the experience of
riders waiting for the bus.This stop provides service to numerous residents living
within a .5-mile distance north,west,east,and south of this stop location. Colton's
city hall and police department are less than .25-mile distance from the stop location
which could help city employees commute to work.A shelter at this location will
enhance the public transit experience by sheltering riders from the elements and
making the stop more visible.
3)Colton: MT VERNON @ LAUREL NB FS; Route 1; 12.6 daily ons&offs;45 daily
buses; Non-ad Shelter-$16,000
•The purchase of a bus shelter will help this location by improving the experience of
riders waiting for the bus.This stop provides service to numerous residents living

riders transferring to Route 15 or accessing the nearby retail, restaurants,
businesses,and housing surrounding the stop.The City of Redlands had made ADA
improvements at this stop funded by the 2013 round of Article 3 funds,allowing for
the installation of the shelter.
6)Highland: BASELINE @ COLE WB FS; Route 4; 12.1 daily ons&offs;47 daily

•The purchase of a bus bench will help this location by improving the experience of
riders waiting for the bus.This stop is located near a residential neighborhood to the
north and south of the stop location. Nearby is also the Highland Police Department,
and local eateries which could serve potential employees and patrons of
businesses.A bench at this location will enhance the public transit experience by
offering riders a place to rest and wait for their bus and improve stop visibility.
7)Redlands: STATE @ TENNESSEE WB NS; Route 8; 12 daily ons&offs; 17 daily
buses; Non-ad Shelter-$16,000
•Installation of a shelter will improve the waiting environment at the bus stop for
riders accessing the Esri software company offices(employee entrances on State
Street)and adjacent apartment complexes and businesses. Esri had made ADA
improvements at this stop,so it now allows for the installation of the shelter.

•The purchase of a shelter will help this location by improving the experience of
riders waiting for the bus. Directly north of this stop location is a light industrial yard

transit experience by sheltering riders from the elements and making the stop more

9)Yucaipa:YUCAIPA BLVD @ 6TH EB FS; Route 19; 11.6 daily ons&offs;23 daily

•The City of Yucaipa is constructing ADA improvements funded in the 2021 round
of Article 3 funds to enlarge the concrete sidewalk boarding area,and then
Omnitrans will be able to install a shelter once the improvements are completed.
Installation of a shelter will improve the waiting environment at the bus stop for
riders accessing retail opportunities and housing in the area surrounding the stop,
by providing seating and shade and making it more comfortable for users to use the
stop in inclement weather.

buses; Bench-$800
•Installation of a bench will improve the waiting environment by providing seating at
the bus stop for riders accessing the Esri software company offices(employee

Article 3 funds, which are expected to be completed in July 2023.
Omnitrans completed the purchase and installation of shelters, benches,
and trash cans funded by 2019 Article 3. Omnitrans has a purchase in
process for shelters, benches, and trash cans, funded by 2021 Article 3
funds, which are expected to be installed by early 2024.
