Riders at this location have immediate access to numerous retail locations. In addition,this stop provides service to numerous residents living within a 0.5-mile distance north,west,and south of this stop location. A shelter at this location will enhance the public transit experience by sheltering riders from the elements and making the stop more visible. 2)Ontario: HOLT @ PALM EB FS; Route 61;69.4 daily ons&offs;54 buses daily; Bench-$800 This stop location has the highest ridership of all bus stops in Ontario in need of a shelter.This stop is within a 0.5-mile radius of the Ontario Museum of History and Art, Ontario City Hall, Ontario town square as well as the Ontario Amtrak station. The stop also provides access to several shopping areas.A shelter at this location will enhance the public transit experience by sheltering riders from the elements. 3)Redlands:ORANGE @ COLTON SB NS; Routes 8& 15;38.2 daily ons&offs;38 buses daily; Bench-$800 Installation of a bench will improve the waiting environment by providing seating at the bus stop for riders accessing the nearby Stater Brothers supermarket,two charity thrift stores,and other businesses and housing.ADA improvements were completed by the City of Redlands from a previous round of Article 3 funds,allowing for the installation of the bench. 4)Redlands: MENTONE @ WABASH WB FS; Route 8;36.9 daily ons&offs; 17 buses daily; Non-ad Shelter-$16,000 Installation of a shelter will improve the waiting environment at the bus stop for riders accessing the retail and housing in the area surrounding the stop, by providing seating and shade and making it more comfortable for users to use the stop in inclement weather. 5)Yucaipa:Yucaipa @ 13th EB FS Route 19; 35.3 daily ons&offs;23 buses daily; Non-ad Shelter-$16,000 Installation of a shelter will improve the waiting environment at the bus stop, providing seating and shade and making it more comfortable for users to use the stop in inclement weather.This will help improve the transit experience for riders accessing Yucaipa High School,skate park,and recreational trails immediately across the street and retail opportunities in the area. 6)Redlands: EUREKA @ REDLANDS BLVD NB FS Route 8;35.2 daily ons&offs; 17 buses daily; Bench-$800 Installation of a bench will improve the waiting environment by providing seating at the bus stop for riders transferring from Route 19 or Beaumont Transit or accessing the nearby retail, restaurants, pharmacy,and movie theatre in the center of downtown Redlands. 7)Ontario: EUCLID @ 4TH SB NS; Route 83;34.4 daily ons&offs;24 buses daily; ShPitPr-Tgn nnn The purchase of a bus shelter will help improve the experience of riders waiting for the bus. Riders tend to be students as Chaffey High School as well as Danks Middle School are 0.2 or 0.3-mile away from the stop.A shelter at this location will enhance the public transit experience by sheltering riders from the elements. Omnitrans recently completed construction of ADA improvements at this location funded through the 2017 Article 3 funding round,so there is now a large enough sidewalk boarding area to accommodate a shelter. 8)Colton:VALLEY @ 3RD WB FS Route 1; 33.9 daily ons&offs;47 buses daily; Shelter-$20,000 Installation of a shelter will improve the waiting environment at the bus stop for riders accessing retail, restaurants,a church,and housing in the area surrounding the stop, by providing seating and shade and making it more comfortable for users to use the stop in inclement weather. Omnitrans recently completed ADA improvements at this location with funds from the 2017 round of Article 3,which will allow installation of a shelter. 9)Highland: BASELINE @ PALM WB FS Route 4;31.2 daily ons&offs;47 buses daily;Shelter-$20,000 The purchase of a bus shelter will help this location by improving the experience of riders waiting for the bus.This bus stop location has the highest ridership in the City of Highland that does not have shelter. Riders at this location have immediate access to numerous retail locations. In addition,this stop provides service to residents of the Palm Grove Mobile Home Park.A shelter at this location will enhance the public transit experience by sheltering riders from the elements. 10)Ontario: RIVERSIDE @ MILL CREEK WB NS Route 87;28.8 daily ons&offs; 1 bus daily;Shelter-$20,000 The purchase of a bus shelter will help improve the experience of riders waiting for the bus.This stop is part of a tripper service to the local high school.Thus,although there is only one bus that comes, ridership at this stop is high due to students leaving the high school in the afternoon. Installation of a shelter would provide protection from the elements for the surge of student riders and help them feel more comfortable at the bus stop.Omnitrans will be installing the shelter once the City of Ontario completes construction of improvements to enlarge the sidewalk boarding area,for which the City is also applying in this round of Article 3 funds.
