Project Need & Project Description
Purpose The purpose of this project is to upgrade the amenities at three Omnitrans bus stops
in Grand Terrace, Montclair, and Rialto. The project would add benches and trash
receptacles to stops based on space available and rider demand. This improvement
would make the stop more accessible for disabled or elderly passengers, as well as
passengers who need a place to sit while they wait for the bus, which may result in
increased ridership.
The three stops see a total of 68 buses per day. The stops include connections to
California State University, San Bernardino, Fontana Metrolink Transit Center, and
the San Bernardino Transit Center. These bus stop locations are noted in
Omnitrans' accessibility survey as needing ADA compliance improvements.
Major landmarks served by the stops include the Renaissance Marketplace in
Rialto, Montclair Wilderness Park, and the Grand Terrace Shopping Center.

This project will include installation of a bus bench.
Omnitrans has a customer who lives within 1/2-mile walking distance of this bus stop who is eligible for
Access paratransit service due to lack of ability to use the fixed-route bus stop; the addition of seating
may help increase usage of this fixed-route bus stop by making it more accessible to seniors or individuals
with disabilities in need of seating.
The westbound bus stop on Barton at Mount Vernon is located on Omnitrans Route 305 in the City of
Grand Terrace. The stop is within ½-mile walking distance of many services including retail, restaurants,
two pharmacies, and a laundromat.

Project Need & Purpose
The purpose of this project is to upgrade the amenities at the San Bernardino St. at Helena Ave. eastbound
bus stop located in the City of Montclair. The project would add a bench and trash receptacles to the stop.
Currently, the stop lacks all amenities aside from a sign. These improvements would make the stop more
accessible for disabled or elderly passengers, as well as passengers who need a place to sit while waiting
for the bus, which may result in increased ridership.
The stop serves Omnitrans Route 88, connecting Montclair to Chino, with direct connection to the
Montclair Transit Center, providing easy access to the Metrolink San Bernardino Line an d Omnitrans
routes serving Fontana, Rialto, Colton, San Bernardino, and other cities.
The current stop is an ideal candidate for upgrade to a bus shelter due to the wide and flat sidewalk at
the location. The stop is immediately adjacent to Wilderness Park and the Waterwise Community Center,
and within a ½ mile walking distance to Montclair Hospital Medical Center, Montclair High School,
Montclair Community Garden, in addition to multiple places of worship for both English - and Spanish-
speaking services. The stop is in a residential area with several blocks of single-family housing within
walking distance.

Project Need & Purpose
The purpose of this project is to upgrade the quality and accessibility of the Renaissance Parkway at Ayala
Dr. eastbound bus stop located in the City of Rialto. The project will add a bench and a trash receptacle to
the stop. This improvement would make the stop more accessible for disabled or elderly passengers, as
well as passengers who need a place to sit while they wait for the bus, which may result in increased
ridership.
The stop serves Omnitrans Route 312, which runs between California State Univers ity, San Bernardino,
and the Fontana Metrolink Transit Center. The stop is served by 17 buses per day. The bus stop location
is noted in Omnitrans’ accessibility survey as needing ADA compliance improvements.
The stop is located adjacent to the Renaissance Marketplace shopping center, which contains a variety of
clothing stores, sporting goods stores, a Cinemark Theater, and restaurants including Panera, The Habit
Burger Grill, California Fish Grill, and Blaze Pizza. The Rialto Amazon Fulfillment Center is ½ mile walking
distance south of the stop.
