Art3_Fontana_FY17_BikePed_AlderSRTS_Ext_190821_CB         August 21, 2019 Estaphany Monroy Assistant Engineer City of Fontana 8353 Sierra Ave Fontana, CA 92335 RE: 2017/18 Alder Middle School Safe Routes to School – Extension Request Dear Ms. Monroy: This letter serves as a response to the City of Fontana’s request to extend the deadline to complete a bicycle/pedestrian project for the Transportation Development Act (TDA) Article 3. In Fiscal Year 2017/18, the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) Board of Directors approved grant awards to the Alder Middle School Safe Routes to School project in the amount of $250,000. SBCTA concurs with the request to extend the deadline for the project. The deadline is now set for December 31, 2021 to allow for completion of the project and reimbursement of the TDA share of the project cost. As a friendly reminder, the TDA Article 3 grant award is paid through a reimbursement process upon completion of the project. It is required that a TDA claim form and supporting documentation of project completion are submitted to SBCTA prior to disbursement of funds to the City of Fontana. The TDA Article 3 grant award is for a maximum reimbursable amount. Should your project exceed the maximum reimbursable amount, SBCTA will not provide any additional reimbursement. For projects completed under the awarded amount, SBCTA will reimburse your agency for the TDA Article 3 share of the project using the match percentage identified in your grant applications. Upon completion of the projects, please contact Vanessa Schoenewald, Transportation Programming Analyst, at SBCTA for the TDA Claim Form and filing instructions for the Bicycle/Pedestrian project. Vanessa can be reached at (909) 884-8276 or vschoenewald@gosbcta.com. Should you need additional information regarding this matter, please contact Cameron Brown, Senior Planner, at (909) 884-8276 or cbrown@gosbcta.com. Sincerely, Cameron Brown Senior Planner Cc: Vanessa Schoenewald, SBCTA
