RE: 2016 Transit Stop Access Bus Stops - Grant Time Extension
Dear Ms. Jaiswal:
This letter serves as a response to the Omnitrans’ request to extend the period of time to complete 21 bus
stop projects for the 2016 Transit Stop Access Program. In Fiscal Year 2015/16, the San Bernardino
County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) Board of Directors approved grant awards from the
Transportation Development Act (TDA) Article 3 Transit Access Program. The project was awarded
$273,351 with a project completion date of December 31, 2018. SBCTA concurs with the request to
extend the period of time to complete the project. The revised project completion date is December 31,
2019. It has also been noted that Omnitrans does not plan on completing improvements at five locations
on this project. Therefore, SBCTA will rescind funds in the amount of $55,804 for the awards on these
five locations. This will bring the total award for the remaining 16 bus stop locations to $217,547 some
of which may have been reimbursed through progress payments or on bus stops that have previously been
completed.
As a friendly reminder, the TDA Article 3 grant award is paid through a reimbursement process upon
completion of the project. It is required that a TDA claim form and supporting documentation of project
completion are submitted to SBCTA prior to disbursement of funds to Omnitrans. The TDA Article 3
grant award is for a maximum reimbursable amount. Should your project exceed the maximum
reimbursable amount, SBCTA will not provide any additional reimbursement. For projects completed
under the awarded amount, SBCTA will reimburse your agency for the TDA Article 3 share of the project
using the match percentage identified in your grant application.
When your project is complete please contact Nancy Strickert, Transportation Programming Analyst, at
SBCTA for the TDA Claim Form and filing instructions. Nancy can be reached at (909) 884-8276 or
nstrickert@gosbcta.com. Should you need additional information regarding this matter, please contact
Cameron Brown, Senior Planner, at (909) 884-8276 or cbrown@gosbcta.com.
Sincerely,
Cameron Brown
