RE: 2013 Article 3 Grant Extension Request for Omnitrans Transit Stop Access Program
Dear Ms.Jaiswal:
This letter serves as a response to Omnitrans' request to extend the period of time to complete the improvements at
bus stop locations in the City and County of San Bernardino, City of Ontario, City of Colton and City of Rialto. On
July 10, 2013, the San Bernardino Associated Governments (SANBAG) Board of Directors approved grant awards
from the Transportation Development Act (TDA) Article 3 Transit Stop Access Program. Omnitrans was awarded
$168,852 to provide improvements at 46 bus stops throughout the Valley with project completion dates of June 30,
2016. As progress is continuing on completion of the awarded improvements, SANBAG concurs with Omnitrans'
request to extend the period of time to complete the remaining improvements. The revised project completion date is
December 31, 2017. In addition, SANBAG will amend the project description and cost for the Milliken and Jurupa
location to shift savings from other improvements to this location to facilitate implementation of all projects.
As a friendly reminder, the TDA Article 3 grant award is paid through a reimbursement process upon completion of
the projects. It is required that a TDA claim form and supporting documentation of project completion are submitted to
SANBAG prior to disbursement of funds to Omnitrans. The TDA Article 3 grant award is for a maximum
reimbursable amount. Should your project exceed the maximum reimbursable amount, SANBAG will not provide any
additional reimbursement. For projects completed under the awarded amount, SANBAG will reimburse your agency
for the TDA Article 3 share of the project using the match percentage identified in your grant application. Lastly, the
receipt of TDA Article 3 funds requires an independent audit of the project.
When your project is complete please contact Nancy Strickert, Transportation Programming Analyst, at SANBAG for
the TDA Claim Form and filing instructions. Nancy can be reached at (909) 884-8276 or nstrickert@sanbag.ca.-,ov.
Should you need additional information regarding this matter, please contact Tim Byrne, Transportation Planning
Chief, at(909) 884-8276 or tbyrne@sanbag.ca.gov.
Sincerely,
Tim Byrne
