Subject: Omnitrans Article 3 Transit Stop Access Program 2011 funds
Dear Ms. Jezik,
In 2011, SANBAG awarded TDA Article 3 Transit Stop Access Program funds to Omnitrans for
accessibility improvements at 10 bus stops located in five cities. Improvements at five of the ten
locations are completed. Improvements at the other five locations are in progress and will not be
completed and invoiced by December 31, 2014. Omnitrans would like to formally request an
extension of the TDA Article 3 Transit Stop Access Program funds until December 31, 2015.
This is the date when all billing is expected to be complete.
Impro vements at two of the locations, in the City of Upland, are being managed (designed and
put out to bid for construction) by the City of Upland. Omnitrans and City staff agreed that the
City had the in-house expertise to be better able to manage the projects and would gain
efficiencies by completing the projects simultaneously with other planned improvements. These
projects have been delayed slightly due to other urgent projects at the City.
The locations in Upland are as follows:
• Foothill Blvd and Campus Ave - $2,336 awarded with $584 match from Omnitrans
• Foothill Blvd and Grove Ave - $1,887 awarded with $472 match from Omnitrans
Similarly, improvements at three of the locations, in the City of Highland, are being managed by
the City of Highland. These projects are in final design and are expected to be put out to bid by
early 2015.
The locations in Highland are as follows:
• Baseline and Valeria Ave - $1,487 awarded with $372 match from Omnitrans
• Baseline St and Victoria Ave - $16,016 awarded with $4,004 match from Omnitrans
• Boulder Ave and Highland Ave - $10,022 awarded with $2,505 match from Omnitrans
