RE: 2010-2011 Article 3 Second Grant Extension Request for Omnitrans Transit Bus Stop Improvements
Dear Ms. Jaiswal:
This letter serves as a response to Omnitrans’ second request to extend the period of time to complete the
improvements at 5 bus stop locations in Upland and Highland. On December 7, 2011, the San Bernardino Associated
Governments (SANBAG) Board of Directors approved grant awards from the Transportation Development Act (TDA)
Article 3 Transit Stop Access Program. Omnitrans was awarded $78,369 to provide improvements at 10 bus stops
throughout the Valley with project completion dates of December 31, 2014. On December 5, 2014 SANBAG extended
the completion date to December 31, 2015. As progress is continuing on completion of the identified improvements,
SANBAG concurs with Omnitrans’ request to extend the period of time to complete these 5 remaining projects. The
revised project completion date is December 31, 2016.
As a friendly reminder, the TDA Article 3 grant award is paid through a reimbursement process upon completion of
the project. It is required that a TDA claim form and supporting documentation of project completion are submitted to
SANBAG prior to disbursement of funds to Omnitrans. The TDA Article 3 grant award is for a maximum
reimbursable amount. Should your project exceed the maximum reimbursable amount, SANBAG will not provide any
additional reimbursement. For projects completed under the awarded amount, SANBAG will reimburse your agency
for the TDA Article 3 share of the project using the match percentage identified in your grant application. Lastly, t he
receipt of TDA Article 3 funds requires an independent audit of the project.
When your project is complete please contact Vanessa Jezik, Transportation Programming Analyst, at SANBAG for
the TDA Claim Form and filing instructions. Vanessa can be reached at (909) 884-8276 or vjezik@sanbag.ca.gov.
Should you need additional information regarding this matter, please contact Tim Byrne, Transportation Planning
Chief, at (909) 884-8276 or tbyrne@sanbag.ca.gov.
Sincerely,
Tim Byrne
Chief of Planning
